How to Feel More Positive in Your Life

There are lots of reasons that people can feel less than positive in their lives. Sometimes it can even feel like they're negative about things all the time…  

For some people, it may be that their self esteem is low, and it feels like no matter what they do, it’s bound to go wrong.

Sometimes people can just feel out of control, or judged by other people…   often, negative feelings can simply come from feeling overwhelmed, helpless, or hopeless.

Other times, it can just feel that they’re being a passive ‘passenger’ in life, or that life is, well, stagnant!

What do these things all have in common?

What’s the one thing that runs through all these negative, hopeless, overwhelming feelings?

It’s the feeling of being POWERLESS - It’s the feeling that no matter what happens, you’re never going to be able to do what you want to do, or be who you want to be…   that no matter what you do, it’s bound to go wrong somehow.

But why is that?  

Why do negative thoughts happen?

Well, the answer to that question is often a very surprising one! - when you find out just what the reasons are that you're feeling negative about things, it'll really open your eyes to why those negative thoughts are happening.

And when you can see exactly why they're happening, it becomes much clearer what you need to do to change things.

One of the techniques that we've put together over the years to help people understand exactly why these negative thoughts might be happening, is called 'The Benefit Scales'.

The Benefit Scales can show you how, if you feel negative, or despondent, or hopeless, or overwhelmed, it may be that you have some of these thoughts for a very good reason... they actually do something for you.

Now, the idea that negative thoughts are actually doing something for you can be a difficult one to ‘get your head around’ at first, but when you do understand this, it can be one of the most life changing revelations you’ll ever have about what really ‘makes you tick’.

It’s only by fully understanding what these thoughts are all about, that you can do something about them.

Negativity, powerlessness, hopelessness, and feeling overwhelmed are all feelings brought about by how you perceive yourself and your life…   and if you can perceive them differently, you can feel differently about them.

Work on your perception, your thoughts, and feelings, and you can feel more positive, empowered, and capable…

In actual fact, if you can understand things like your ‘Personality Spectrum’, ‘The Effort / Benefit Balance’, the ‘Benefit Scales’, and 'The Divergence Technique' for example (all of which by the way, are fully explained in The LifeShaping Process), you’d be well on the way to feeling far more positive... more positive in yourself, and more positive that whatever problems you have in life, they really can be helped.
