Where Does Acarophobia Come From?
Acarophobia, just like most phobias, come from an subconscious 'overprotection' mechanism. The fear of itching (or insects that cause itching) is caused by the mind over-estimating the danger caused by itching (or insects that cause itching), believing that itching (or insects that cause itching) presents an actual threat, where in reality it may not.
Acarophobia can be caused by an 'unresolved' emotional conflict.
