Achluophobia is the fear of darkness.

Where Does Achluophobia Come From?
Achluophobia, just like most phobias, come from an subconscious 'overprotection' mechanism. The fear of darkness is caused by the mind over-estimating the danger caused by darkness, believing that darkness presents an actual threat, where in reality it may not.
Achluophobia can be caused by an 'unresolved' emotional conflict.
Can Achluophobia Be Treated?
