What is Aerophobia?
Aerophobia is the fear of flying (or the fear of airborne substances).
What is aerophobia also known as?
Aerophobia can also be known as:
- The fear of flying
- Flying phobia
- Fear of aircraft
- Fear of chemicals in the air
- Fear of noxious substances
- Fear of breathing in dangerous substances
Where Does Aerophobia Come From?
Aerophobia, just like most phobias, come from an subconscious 'overprotection' mechanism. The fear of flying is caused by the mind over-estimating the danger caused by flying, believing that flying presents an actual threat, where in reality it may not.
Aerophobia can be caused by an 'unresolved' emotional conflict.
Can Aerophobia Be Treated?
