Help with Erectile Dysfunction
Article by Paul and Denise Douglass
What is Erectile Dysfunction?
Erectile Dysfunction (sometimes also called 'impotence') is the name given to a man's inability to maintain an erection for long enough for sexual intercourse to take place.
It's important to understand that erectile dysfunction can have two main causes, psychological, and physiological.
If the erectile dysfunction is physiological (i.e. has a physical cause), then the man might be offered a range of treatments by his G.P. - In either case erectile dysfunction should always be checked out by a medical doctor first, even if only to rule out physical causes. If you smoke, also talk to your doctor about the effects of smoking on erectile dysfunction, and the benefits of stopping smoking.
If the erectile dysfunction is psychological in nature, then it is usually caused by a deep, underlying anxiety of some kind.
Assuming that the erectile dysfunction in a man is caused by a psychological issue, rather than a physiological one, it can be successfully treated using therapies such as hypnotherapy.
Because the two types of hypnotherapy
anxiety, we can greatly help those men whose erectile dysfunction is caused by just such an anxiety.
If you are a man who suffers from erectile dysfunction, and feel that it might be caused by an anxiety like we've described, why not come along for an initial consultation, so that we can meet, and discuss your individual needs.
You can meet with a male or female therapist, whichever you'd prefer, and would feel most comfortable with.
Naturally, your initial consultation, and in-fact any sessions that we have together, are in the strictest confidence.
How to overcome erectile dysfunction
The one thing we'd like to say right from the start, is don't worry, you CAN overcome erectile dysfunction when you know how.
What we've found over the years, is that there are a few simple techniques that you can use to overcome erectile dysfunction.
Sometimes, people who have erectile dysfunction can often feel quite out of control and negative about things, because it can sometimes feel like they're stuck with it, and there's nothing that can be done about it (which of course there is!).
So the first thing to understand if you're looking to get over your erectile dysfunction, is that that there IS something that can be done, and even that in itself can help you feel a bit more in control right from the start.
Sometimes, it might feel like people are judging you negatively because of your erectile dysfunction, and so overcoming erectile dysfunction can also have the added bonus of feeling less judged.
So, as we say, don't worry... we've found over the years, that there are a few simple techniques that you can use to overcome erectile dysfunction... you CAN overcome erectile dysfunction when you know how... it just might be that you need someone to show you how!

Hi Paul,
I'm delighted to tell you that since we last met, the problem I started seeing you about has gone! My girlfriend and I have been very active over the past couple of weeks and all my worrying has vanished!
I felt a great relief after our last session, I feel happier all round and have changed the way I look at things, in particular my over sensitivity about what other people are thinking.
It was a pleasure to meet you, thanks so much for your help.
...an 'Erectile Dysfunction' client from London
I was very sceptical going in. I had a problem with erectile dysfunction, and was about ready to turn to the viagra. I wasn't convinced that simply talking about it would help. But it did: the process isn't a miracle cure (it takes work and a lot of thinking) but it helped tremendously. The problem has been resolved. Paul was a pleasure to deal with and talking about the issue with him never felt awkward or difficult. The mental techniques he proposed began to have an impact almost immediately once I'd gotten the hang of them.
